Our Club History

Established in 1987, the Altona Roosters are one of the oldest active clubs in Victoria, proudly carrying more than three decades of passion, persistence, and community spirit. From our early days on local fields to becoming a recognised force in the region, our story is built on strong foundations laid by dedicated volunteers, supportive families, and players who’ve worn the Roosters jersey with pride.

Over the years, our club has produced an impressive line-up of NRL talent, a testament to the quality of our coaching, our culture, and the commitment of everyone involved. That history continues to inspire the next generation, reminding us of what’s possible when a community rallies behind its players.

Today, guided by our active Executive and General Committee, we remain committed to developing strong skills, strong character, and strong community ties.
